City at night collage

1st graders created a city at night collage. They started by drawing a night sky on a 9"x18" piece of black construction paper. They used crayola construction paper crayons. Next we discussed that the basic shape of most buildings is a rectangle. I showed them how to cut a rectangle from a piece of construction paper. Then I showed them how to change to tops of the building by cutting the top corners. After that they glued their buildings and added details. They added details with construction paper and construction paper crayons.
